You are invited to participate in the Cocoplum Fishing Tournament to be held on January 14-16, 2005. The Overall Winner will receive an 18’ Yellowfin Backcountry Skiff sponsored by Yellowfin Yachts.  The Tournament has divisions which enable you to fish against teams at your level, they include: Overall Winner, Professional, Amateur, Cocoplum Member Division, Top Male Angler, Top Woman Angler, Top Junior Angler, Top Captain, Top Mate.  In addition to fun fish categories we also have the bottom fish Grouper and Snapper Divisions.  The special awards for participating anglers include the Hard Luck Angler, Love of Life Award and Sportsmanship Award. We also have optional cash categories which contribute 15% directly to the Police Officers Assistance Trust a 501 (c)(3) non-profit support organization, no additional fees will be taken out.

 

The Tournament will host evening parties which feature complimentary open bars, dinner buffet and live entertainment. Additional tickets to attend the evening parties will be available at the administration office on November 15, 2004.  The  fee for each night is $30 for adults and $10 for children under 15.  Children will enjoy activities, which include archery contest,  balloons, snow cones, arts and crafts, etc. Our sponsors will showcase their products and/or services in booths throughout the weekend festivities. We invite you and your business to advertise in our Tournament magazine and/or sponsor this event.

 

The Sailfish Libertad Challenge has designated the Cocoplum Fishing Tournament as the first leg of 2005.  This award was conceived by Bob Christoph of Miami Beach Marina.  The 2005 Challenge includes the Cocoplum Fishing Tournament, the Boat Center Yamaha Capt. Bob Lewis Challenge, the Masters Billfish Championship and the Yamaha Contender Miami Billfish Tournament.  The boat with the highest overall number of sailfish releases between these four tournaments is the Grand Winner and will receive $30,000 cash from sponsors Shelley Realty and Miami Beach Marina.
